The 2025 World Athletics Championships are upon us with nine days of incredible competition taking center stage at the Japan National Stadium as more than 2,000 athletes from 200+ countries have their sights set on records, medals and glory.
The championships will run from September 13–21, 2025.
38 of 41 individual gold medalists from the 2023 edition of the World Championships including Noah Lyles, Mondo Duplantis, Femke Bol and Ryan Crouser are returning.
For our American audience, primetime in Tokyo = early morning EDT so be sure to set your alarms accordingly.
There are two sessions per day — mornings (heats/qualifiers), evenings (semis/finals). Finals are spread across all 9 days, with key medal moments clustered on weekends.
If you want to view the full schedule, check the World Athletics official timetable. You can also check on the CIITUS MAG social channels, we’ll be sharing live updates, results, interviews and more.
CITIUS MAG will have a daily post-race show that will provide our expert analysis and insights from the mixed zone every day from Tokyo. We will aim to go live on YouTube as close to the conclusion of each day’s evening session in Japan. Be sure to subscribe to the CITIUS MAG YouTube channel and turn on your notifications for us, as it will notify you when we go live. Every show will be available to stream, download and listen in podcast form as well on The CITIUS MAG Podcast feed.
How to watch live in the United States:
NBC will televise the World Championships across its family of networks. All sessions will be available to stream on Peacock.
